So my Sony receiver has been acting funny lately, when i first turn it on, and it was at low volume from the night before, only the left channel has any sound coming out of it. Then i turn it up, the right kicks in, and then i can turn it down. Anyone know if my receiver is dying? I ask this because i only use L & R up at school, where when i'm home the receiver is plugged into a 5.1 speaker set, and i've never had this issue before. I remember it from old stereo receivers where you would have to be loud enough for one channel to work, but never on mine.

Sounds like either a dry-joints issue, or some capacitor-y related issue.

What model is it? It may or may not be worth repairing...

Sony STR-DE597 6 channel 600w home theater receiver. Got it about three or so years ago, hoping it will last until i get my first home and upgrade some stuff.
