I have a Stereo Pair of Homepods set up and also as default audio output for my AppleTV. Sound is only coming out of one of the HomePods. Tried undoing the default audio output and then unpair and re-pair as a stereo pair. Still no good. Reboot? Anyone have a solid fix for a case like this so I don’t have to fiddle? Thanks.

I had the same issue two nights ago. This worked for me: I changed the ATV default output to TV speakers, unpaired the Homepods, rebooted the ATV, paired the Homepods again, set the default output to the stereo pair. Win.

Appreciate that. I didn’t try rebooting anything yet but I’ll give it a shot. Thanks.

It worked! Thank you much for the troubleshoot. I rebooted each HomePod too after I unpaired them for good measures. Thanks!

Glad you got this fixed, but I have to say, that's exactly the kind of PITA weird situation I want no part of with a high end audio setup.

My point is that my sound-bar and rear surrounds have required exactly zero fixing in 9 years.
Thanks. It’s a lot of tech and software involved. Some glitches here and there are expected but I hear ya. Hardware failures are where I get pissed lol. I’d call this one a very minor inconvenience though.

This has happened a few times lately. One side effect is it really makes you notice the difference between one HomePod and two working together. But anyway, rebooting does the trick.

Yep, I noticed right away while I was watching hockey.

I know what you mean and I've been there myself. I'm just saying that it's okay for a complete wireless and stress free setup like the Homepods to have a minor hickup now and then =)

This has been happening to me lately too. Maybe it's anecdotal, but it seems to happen mostly with apps that don't use the native video playing interface. In my case it seems to happen quite often with YouTube and a few times with Disney+. In the most recent case, I went from YouTube where the sound was lost to Apple Music and it played fine. When all else fails I reboot the AppleTV and the HomePods too - that has always worked.

After working almost perfectly for a year, my office HomePod minis in stereo has been super buggy for 1-2 months or so. The right HomePod will play music just fine but the left one keeps jumping in and out. It'll stay quiet for maybe 20 seconds, then play for 2 seconds, then stay quiet for another 20 seconds or so, then play briefly again. Super, super annoying. I've tried unpairing and pairing them again, have tried taking the power for a while, have tried resetting them in Home app on my iPhone. Nothing seems to fix it
