I believe in the keynote he was comparing to other portable consoles like the PSP and DS, which is pretty true.

Technically they are not consoles.
i have never seen anyone label a handheld as a 'console'. He should know the difference between a console and a handheld considering what position he is in.
PSP and DS are handhelds. PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii are consoles.
That link contains the very quote he posted. He did not say 'invented' this is true. But he did claim he created it.
