In the name of signal to noise ratio, the hardware forums, especially the iPhone forum, could really use a sticky that preemptively answers the increasingly frequent question “buy now or wait?”.

There are 9 pages of search results for more or less the same question since 2007. I feel like I see it almost every time I visit. Repetitive FAQs make the forum feel more like a bus station than a forum.

A sticky could summarize the standard replies (buy it now if you need it now, etc.) and link to the MR buying guide.

The buy/wait question is no less tedious than “what color/size are you getting?”, for which there is a merged sticky.

It's not positioned as part of the forum. A sticky that lives at the top of the posts is more noticeable. People who are asking this question are typically just drive-by users who aren't scanning the page before asking the same question asked a million times. They're not interested in saving anyone's time or screen space...they want their answer and they want it fast. Then they're outta here. A sticky might at least cut down on some of these redundant questions.
