Dial Up
Mac OS X 10.4

Since installing Tiger, an application program "Internet Connect" is popping up and asking me if I still want to stay connected while I am online. If I do not respond (away form computer), it disconnects me. Arrrgh.

I have gone to System Prefs (Network/Modems) and unchecked the "Remind me x seconds before disconnecting me". It still pops up and asks me.....

Any help....thanks !

Hmm...this happens to me at home when using dial up (I have OS 10.3.8 running now). How did you prevent it before upgrading to OS 10.4?

I went to Sys. Prefs/Network/Modem and unchecked the "Warn Me" box.....but that was in OS 10.2......so I don'tknow if it will work in 10.3....

Do this:

1. Open System Preferences and click on Network.
2. Click on Internal Modem, then click the Configure button.
3. Click on the PPP Options button.
4. Uncheck the box "Disconnect If Idle For 10 Minutes", and the box "Prompt every {minutes} minutes to maintain connection".
5. Click OK, and everything should work after that.
