I have the new retina MacBook Pro (bought in August) and OS X is up-to-date but I still have the issue (which has been present since the beginning) wherein when I open the laptop, there is a delay between waking (which it does immediately) and me being able to type in my password. The screen and password prompt appear immediately but the system is essentially frozen, I can't move my mouse or type and I have to wait approximately anywhere from 10-20 seconds every single time. The issue doesn't exist when I'm starting up after the system being off, but I never really actually shut down the laptop and instead just shut the lid and resume later.

It's really annoying and I thought one of the earlier updates was supposed to fix this issue, but it never did. Anybody else having this problem or know of any possible resolutions? Thanks!

I don't have this issue, neither any of my friends/relatives using rMBP.

Did you try a fresh install? Are you running any "hidden" application?
