Still no 5.1 USB solution?

Is there STILL no 5.1 USB solution? I don't want to spend money on a teufel system -.- and I don't have anything that uses Toslink.. i just want a working external 5.1 USB sound card (my macbook does NOT have Firewire)

Can't you just hook up a USB 5.1 External Sound card?

Easy said, hehe. Sadly not many 5.1/7.1 USB Audio solutions are out which work with Core Audio, most of them are discontinued anyway with no replacement.

The best way is maybe to buy an DTS/Pro Logic Receiver or a Decoderbox.

Also the OSX86 Hardware Compatibility List shows few options.

The Sweex 5.1 USB SC004 (v2) seems to work out of the box.
