Apple fail here.
Probably more than half the new cars being sold on the market today have an annoying "feature" where the head unit sends a "Play" command whenever an audio device is reconnected via USB or Bluetooth, including the iPhone. For whatever reason, most of the head units don't have an option to disable this "feature."
This can be incredibly annoying, not to mention sometimes embarrassing and inappropriate when passengers are in the car.
Not to mention, sometimes the Music app will start blaring after completing a phone call, after a mapping program gives a voice direction, and in other conditions.
I've waited through iOS 6/7/8 and now 9 for Apple to add a simple setting to ignore a "Play" commands on reconnect, or just ignore all remote "Play" commands altogether, but it still isn't there.
I finally had to just remove ALL music from iTunes and the Music app, and put in a single .mp3 that is just "silence," $.99 in iTunes, but also available around the web if you look.
Now I had to dump all my music into a folder and use another player to play my tunes. I'll never buy anything else in iTunes either now I guess - what's the point?
