Has anyone found a tweak that'll do this? I had to restore, and before it was hidden but now it's showing, it's annoying. Wish I could hide the update badge at least, and also the update showing in settings.

you can always update to 8.1.1 and re-jailbreak :)

LOL, yeah but with the various reports of crash log and non-ability to update I'd rather wait it out a bit and see how stable and future-resistant it is.

oh ok.. that's not a big deal.

So it's a big deal to go from 8.1.1 which has few or no applicable updates for you, but it's no big deal to get the jailbreak updates, which could be of significant impact? Interesting...

yes. updates to the jailbreak package through cydia is not that serious.. cydia updates are what matters. iOS updates are crucial because they fix bugs (Apple fixes issues that are not listed in the change log).

Huh? We're not talking about cydia updates, we're talking about the JAILBREAK updates, not your tweaks!

For example, Pangu has had 4-5 updates since it came out.

I know exactly what you're talking about and its not that serious. All previous JB packages were not updated through cydia . Each JB is different as has a different methodology. So again, it is not that big of a deal that the JB package is not updated via cydia. ... all of the past JB's were not updated that way..

Yes sir. Very easy. Here's the thread. Use Remove Badges from Merlin to get rid of the badge. Then just update the 2 plist files according to the guidance in the below thread. Respring and the badge and the "1" inside the cells in the settings app will be gone! I just did it the other day which is why that thread is so recent. Let me know if you have any questions.

I heard that the Taig jb is updatable in Cydia, the jb dev just hasn't turned the notification thing on in Cydia to list it among the stuff installed. So there will be updates just nothing right now.
I'm sure someone else here can confirm it though

I'll wait for a tweak to do this.

Up to you obviously. Personally, I'd rather do a one time edit manually rather than hook a mobile substrate extension to clear a couple badges. But to each his own! That's what jail breaking is all about!

Thanks, editing plist files did the trick.

Well that's pointless. I want the badge gone and the settings update indicator gone too. LOL

Dude you didn't even read my post. It explains one of the many ways to get rid of the badge. Just use Remove Badges.

I think you have to use 'Remove Badges' tweak for that as BumpyFlatline stated above.

Thanks.

FYI, there are others ways to get rid of badges too. This just happened to be the tweak I tried.
