I use both windows and mac. I was thinking of investing in a TBD. however it seems as there is no way to hook it up to windows also. So im leaning towards a dell ips that can do both. I tried to search for video cards that had thunderbolt instead of mini display port and the only google results im getting are for external cards not internal. so even if i was willing to purchase a new video card there isnt any.

Intel has not released the necessary chips to allow non-Apple computer makers (or video card makers) to implement Thunderbolt yet, so you aren't going to find any alternatives to Apple at this point. Wait to mid-year and you'll probably start seeing a lot of non-Apple Thunderbolt options.

oh ok that makes sense. intel needs to get on the ball.

They stated their release schedule long ago. They said it would be out this year at the time of Ivy Bridge, but there's no guarantee that they'll use the same connector PC side.
