2018 15" MBP and I'm still running Catalina as at 85(nearly) I've got used it, like an old friend and am nervous about updating.
As it's running out of updates, where would be a sensible (easy and safe) update to go to please. I use my MBP mainly for photo processing.
Cheers

If you're happy, my advice is to leave things alone (at least for now).

I'm still using Mojave on this 2018 MacBook Pro.
No plans to upgrade further (Mojave is the last OS that can run 32 bit apps).

I tried 10.10.5, 10.11.6, 10.12.6, 10.13.6, 10.14.6, 10.15.7, Big Sur and Monterey on my MacBook Pro 2015 but decided to stay with 10.15.7 since it is the last intel-only build and does not look like iOS/iPadOS... I am not using any 32bit app... Thinking of upgrading to Big Sur once it no longer receives security updates...

10.10.5, 10.11.6, 10.12.6 - Firefox 78.x ESR, fastest to boot but HFS Plus only
10.13.6, 10.14.6 - Firefox 115.x ESR, final 32bit app support, not as fast as earlier versions when booting but can now use APFS for boot drive
10.15.7 - Firefox 115.x ESR and newer, 64bit app support only, APFS boot drive and has system volume read-only
Big Sur, Monterey - about to end getting security updates, more stable compared to Ventura and upcoming Sonoma, optimized/designed for Apple Silicon but still supports some intel versions

Um, decisions, decisions! My main reason for needing to update is that Topaz, my main software for sharpening and removing noise from my photos, has stopped supplying updates to anything earlier than Big Sur.
However, I see Apple are ending updates for Big Sur so theoretically need to go to a newer OS.
I don't think I'm worried about 32bit/64bit compliance.

Please consider this thread closed. Not updating as not enough HD room.
