Still only ATT?

Had a buddy of mine ask me if ATT would be the only US carrier for the new iPhone. I told him I thought they had a multi-year contract with Apple.

Is this still the straight story? With all the carriers overseas wasn't sure if there was a chance was opening it up domestically.
