I am still running Sonoma on my M1 MacBook Pro and thinking about upgrading to Tahoe since the M1 will soon stop getting upgrades in the near future. Just trying to get an idea if this is a good or bad idea to upgrade or just stick with Sonoma. Not really planning on getting a new laptop for a few years I don't think. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

I'm still running Sonoma on my M3 Pro MBP, still waiting for the Tahoe dust to settle down. The crunch will come when Apple stops providing updates, and hoping Tahoe is in better shape by then.

I'm still on the Big Sur my M1 Air shipped with; I have no complaints at all.

I've been running Tahoe two months now. At first, the new look seems different, but it soon grows on you and it becomes "normal."

Sonoma runs fine on my own MacBook Pro (m1pro).
I'm going to leave it alone for the foreseeable future...

I'm also running Sonoma but on M3 Pro and I *could* update to Tahoe but (I know a lot of people hate it) I just can't see myself using my Macbook without Launchpad. I use it multiple times a day, while spotlight maybe few times a month. It's just faster and easier for me to pinch on my trackpad and click an icon than trigger the spotlight and type the app.
I also have seen lots of complaints from people where they type the app name and it's not even showing up.
I know there are alternatives to Launchpad from 3rd party developers but they require to pay for "pro" feature which is pinch to open and... why would I need to pay for something that I have now directly from Apple for free?
Maybe I'll update to Sequoia but at the same time I'm thinking of selling my 14" MacBook and getting M4 Pro 16" as they're quite discounted and then I'll just wait for 2nd or 3rd gen of OLED MacBook.
