Still safe to jailbreak Verizon iphone on 4.2.6??

I see that there was a jailbreak for 4.2.6 through greenpoison...
Im also aware that apple is not signing blobs for anything less than 4.3.4 or 4.2.9
my cousin has a verizon iphone running 4.2.6. can i jailbreak it with greenpoison? or will it fail because of the whole shsh blob situation?

I have tried to find and answer but conflicting stories are confusing me, thanks!!

You don't need blobs to jailbreak, only to restore to old firmware.

Ifaith backs up the blobs of teh firmware ur phone is running on regardless of apple signing them or Not
