So I just saw that Apple updated iPhoto 8 to iPhoto 8.1.2. Also noticed that I'm still running iPhoto 6. Any good reasons to upgrade to 8? 6 works fine for my uses: storing and printing family photos. Does 8 have any earth-shattering features that you guys love?

Compared to '06, Faces and Events (if my memory serves me correctly).

Neither function is absolutely necessary, but Events certainly has grown on me and I'd rather not be without them now, and Faces is nice to have.

I believe that the '08 version has the map location feature, that puts on a map the photos showing where they were taken. Your camera has to have that feature to automatically assign the location, like the iPhone does, but I think that you can assign the location also.

To confuse things a bit, iPhoto 8.1.2 is iPhoto '09...

Hadn't thought about the maps (Places) feature, but since McGiord mentioned them I'll confirm that you can assign locations for photos manually as well (quite easily).
