Stock 7200rmp vs stock 128 SSD

I really want to have an SSD in the main drive with a hard drive in the optical bay. I have seen that apples ssd is not as fast as others I can buy. I also know that apples stock hard drive won't have motion sensor in the optical bay. I'm not sure if i should get the 128SSD or 500g 7200rmp when i order my 15 mbp. What is the best choice without having to buy 2 3rd party hard drives.

While the Apple SSD is not the fastest, it's still plenty fast.

Check out the real world performance of the Kingston V+ 100, it performs the same as the Apple SSD.

I have the BTO Apple SSD. Its no second gen Sandforce but its feels roughly twice as fast as any of my 7200 rpm drives. Very happy with it.

I agree, if your after sheer speed even an Apple SSD should blow away any 7200 drive

The stock 128 SSD drive in the 15 MBP is super fast

well worth it

it's even more worth it due to its price in some models. $100 for a 128gb ssd is nice.
