I have a regular stock Verizon iPhone 4S I want to make it quicker and more responsive, Will jail breaking it do this for me. Also are all jailbreaks the same or are there different types ?? (Sort of like ROMs on android).

The jailbreak it's self doesn't change the phone. Jailbreak is like root to android. And the tweaks, themes and Cydia apps you install as a whole are like a rom.

There are some things that you can do to speed up the 4S. The 4S is pretty fast already and has no lag issues like the 4 does. You can speed up the animations, remove lots of unneeded files and remove launch daemons.

It's also possible to get things done faster with certain tweaks by increasing the functionality of the OS.

I asked that question because I've seen a couple different ways how people are doing it And I want to do it the right way
Latest version 6.1.3

Also is there a tutorial or something of that nature for the jailbreak ? So I can get the most out of it

You can't jailbreak a 4S running 6.1.3

Different ways? There's only one way and been that way for a while to jailbreak iOS 6 (on the 4S/5) and that's using evasi0n

It's all over the Internet. The popular tweaks will be popping left and right

There's always idownloadblog.com
They make reviews of lots of the more popular tweaks
