Hi

Stockfolio was very expensive.

I bought the app many years ago. Then I took a big break from investing and now I want the app again.

But unfortunately the App has completely disappeared. How can I install the app?

The website is also no longer accessible.

Stockfolio 1.5

Stockfolio is a stock and cryptocurrency investment app for Mac allowingyou to easily research and track your portfolio.
Keep an eye on your investments in the portfolio section of Stockfolio. We have designed it with you in mind, and it has already receivedmultiple updates based on valuable customer feedback.

  • License: Demo, $25
  • Developer/Publisher: Pandaris
  • Modification Date: April 3, 2019
  • Requirements: macOS 10.12 or higher - 64-bit

Any good alternative you can recommend?

I don't wish subscription. I avoid subscription completely. I wish to pay once.

Sometimes apps just disappear from the App Store unfortunately. If you know a developer is shutting down, as in this case, it is recommended you back up the apps you use.

Personally I use Tradeviews free access. It also have quite a good app. Their service is quite pricy though, so there are limits to what you can do and how many things you can follow.

I feel your pain though, there is a great iPad drawing app that I ben using since 2017
and would be lost cartoon-wise without that!

Yup, that is the one. Very powerful app, expensive service.

You speak about servers. On the desktop
Ignoring your referencing being almost 10 years old.

I don’t think it supports your claim as strongly as you believe.

If you won’t use Java applications due to security concerns the you shouldn’t run anything from anywhere.

Don’t trust/distrust based on the language used or the use of a runtime environment. Trust/distrust on the developers of each application. Malware and exploits come from a huge variety of sources and saying “Don’t run Java, only use Swift/C#/C++ applications” does nothing for your security.

@Quotenfrau You don’t have to install Java on your Mac, the release jstock-1.0.7.60-jre-macos-arm.zip and stock-1.0.7.60-jre-macos-x86.zip are basically self-contained java apps. Java is included in the package and running jstock.sh sets the parameters for that session only.

There were issues with browser plugins for Java. I don't think those have been in use for quite some time. More general concerns regarding Java on the desktop are probably unfounded.

Some programs I run are actually Java ones, but don't explicitly advertise that fact. You might be already running some yourself.

Has anyone had any luck making Stockfolio work with Sequoia?
If not - any news on an update of Stockfolio?
Have tried numerous times to contact developer - no luck.
