stolen iphone 2G

Well my iphone was stolen few days ago so I am wondering if I can find it by myself...can I track it with some software or something? can serial number helps here or what? I already report to the police and they say that they will find it but I can't wait so long for that please help

i have heard that google latitude might work. not sure though...

Nothing you can do about it besides ask around if anyone found it.
The 2G doesnt even have a GPS chip so even if you had tracking software installed it wouldnt help much.
