Hi all,

I was robbed yesterday and my iPhone 3g was stolen too. I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to re-activate my original iphone without going to an AT&T store? I don't have a land line or anything and am trying to cancel/report stolen credit cards and all that fun stuff.

Thanks!

Just go to AT&T and get a new SIM card. Pop it in the phone, connect to iTunes and you're good to go.

UPDATE: The new SIM works with my original iPhone. Also, It looks like the thief made a few calls with my phone. Any suggestions on what to do with the phone numbers they called?

Give them to the police to add to the report of robbery.

I have a question. Was your iPhone password protected? I always hear about stolen iPhones having calls made on them but for the life of me I don't understand how they can do that when the iPhone is locked with a password.

Worth a shot if you want to play detective.

Call the numbers and tell them you lost your phone and you're trying to get in contact with the person who found it. Tell them they have called your contacts trying to get in contact with you and ask them if they have any other way to reach them.

Some of the people might actually bite.

Fortunately I had the password set to come on after 4 hours. I'm hoping there is no way to access data on the phone now without the password.
