Stop automatic power on when lid opened macbook pro 2016

Hi,

I do not like the new power button behavior on the mbp 2016. Is there a way to revert it back to the old way. I want to turn the computer on only when I say so, like normal people. Apple should not assume that when the lid is open, I want the screen on. I could be cleaning the screen, for example, in which I want the computer to stay off.

Yes, google it, answers are readily available. The solution requires a simple script to be entered in Terminal:

sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00

And to return it to 'boot on lid open':

sudo nvram AutoBoot=%03
