I am worried that WatchOS 6 might reduce my outstanding battery life on my S3 and therefore I have decided to wait a bit longer before I go ahead with the upgrade (frankly there is nothing in WOS6 that I actually need).
Is there any way to stop the watch from regularly nagging me about this upgrade?
The only option I see to dismiss it is by selecting "remind me later".
How about a "remind me NEVER, thank you very much"?

Given Apple’s perfect trackrecord of going against keeping using older version of software, your best bet of not using watchOS 6 on your series 3 is never using iOS 13 and above, or iOS will keep nagging you ”new software available”. You can try to delete the updates using Watch app, but there is no perfect solution to stop Apple Watch from receiving updates Other than not upgrading iOS.

Yep. Apple (and companies in general) are in nag mode for updates. Be grateful they don’t pull a MS And force them.
