I have an AWU running beta 10. I don’t think this is an issue with the beta, more of a general issue. I listen to music on my watch while running, which normally works fine.

Some days I’ll start up Music on the phone after turning on my headphones, hit play, and the music will play from my iPhone instead of my watch. Once in a while I can reboot my watch and it will play off the watch once the reboot is done, but the only repeatable method I’ve found to fix this is to power down the iPhone and restart the watch. At this point music plays through my watch again and I can turn my iPhone back on.

Does anyone know of a way to stop music on the watch from playing on the iPhone? All my google searches end in links talking about disabling Now Playing in auto-launch, and I did that long ago.
