Is there a way to stop CarPlay suggesting a route in Apple maps when it connects?

It attempts to remember where you’re going, and plans the route and takes a few presses of cancel to get the normal route back.

The only thing I seem to have found is turn off significant locations on a Google search, but don’t want to do this. I just want it to stop suggesting!

Thanks

Can't help with that... I use Waze instead of Apple Maps... I don't often use "routes" unless I am going into an unfamiliar area... I mainly use the Waze to watch for traffic issues, speed traps, accidents, etc... and when I do use Waze to map my route, when I arrive, I stop the route and it's done until I use it again for a new destination. I don't recall ever being prompted with a suggested route when I connect my phone to my head unit w CarPlay.

I've never seen this happen. I plug in to CarPlay several times per week.

Did you end your last navigation? Perhaps it's still trying to go to the last place you entered but didn't end. My significant locations is on, BTW.
