Stop iPhoto from Auto-Opening

This is probably an elementary question but its my first iPhone. I want to stop iPhoto from opening automatically every time I plug it in. I tried hiding photos I already imported but it still opens even if I don't have new ones. Is there a way to stop it from opening automatically so I can just manually import pics?
