is there anyway to stop the macosx dvd window opening every-time u insert the dvd

the only reason i ask this is because i restore the dvd to one of my external hard drives and every-time i unplug and plug in the drive the window show up
 
You can alter the behavior at least for unburnt writable media (CDR, CDRW, DVDR, etc) from System Prefs -> CDs & DVDs.

I'm not sure how to adapt the behavior of newly mounted data discs.
