Stop receiving iCloud email (@me.com) on iPad

Will this work if I turn off the "Mail" in the iCloud settings? (will this stop me receiving emails from my other accounts?)
Is it possible to get rid of the @me.com email (deactivate it completely)?

there's two sollutions:
- Remove the icloud account from the settings menu for mail completely
- Keep the mail coming through to your iPad but don't select view all inboxes in your mail application and only select the mail account inbox you want to read mails from.

Thanks, I didn't realize I could just flick the switch in the mail settings.
