I have a sleep schedule on my Series 8 but if I wake up before the alarm and move around (make breakfast, bathroom etc) the watch doesn't ask me to stop the sleep tracking but instead it waits for the alarm to ring (end of scheduled sleep). If I then watch the sleep results I can see that the period I was awake and moving around its correctly not in the sleep data but I still don't want the alarm to ring and to turn off manually the sleep mode. Any suggestions?

Sometimes it’ll play a chime, display a message saying it seems you’re awake, and give you the option to turn off sleep focus. But it’s not reliable.

I’ve given up completely on the sleep schedule. I have a decent real-world schedule, generally in and out of bed plus / minus half an hour the same time every day — but it’s not to-the-minute repeatable, and the sleep schedule (for whatever idiotic reason) makes that assumption in so many different ways.

So what I do is, when I turn out the lights, I turn on sleep focus; when I get out of bed, I turn it off. If I use the watch for an alarm, it’s the regular alarm, not the sleep-connected version.

I know the sleep schedule thing should “just work.” But it doesn’t, and manually turning the sleep focus on and off is waaaaaay less hassle than dealing with the sleep schedule. Heck, turning the focus on and off is easier than turning the lights on and off; the watch is on your switch, so no need to get up (or even reach).

That's what I'm doing now but I would like to not have to think about it.. Coming from a Fitbit which does everything perfectly and automatically, for me, this is a let down of the apple watch... I hope this multi-billion company can code something automatic like AutoSleep has done :/

Similar problem. I using a sleep schedule on an AW Ultra and would like to just be able to tell the watch I'm awake and cancel the alarm if I'm up early. If I reset the schedule to the time I woke up, it erases the sleep data.

Surely there Is there a way to just cancel the scheduled wakeup time and retain whatever data has been recorded to that point. Is there a way to do this or a workaround.

In these months of testing, I've found out that if you stop the sleep focus from the watch it saves the data! Don't stop the sleep focus from the iPhone.. Also, one day happened that I went to sleep without setting the sleep focus because I forgot about it and the next day after the sleep was recorded!!! I was shocked for bit haha
In these days I want to test if I start the sleep focus without the alarm and want to see if when I get up it tells me to stop sleep because it understands that I'm awake or if it keeps tracking.. Maybe it's not asking me to stop the tracking automatically because there is an alarm and it waits to it to go off..

How do you stop sleep focus on the watch without changing your schedule. I think next time I wake up early, I'll try to be more active and see if I get an option on the watch to confirm that I'm awake and to take me out of sleep mode. Simply waking up and some light activity doesn't seem to prompt.

Simply when you wake up, swipe up on unlocked Apple Watch (as sleep mode is on) and then turn sleep mode focus there.
Instantly you will get prompt asking if you woke up.
