For the Love of God - why do I receive day old, already read notifications, when I forget to wear my watch for one day?

I receive 100+ texts and iMessages per day. Sometime I forget to charge or wear my watch. When I charge and put it on the next day, I still receive messages that were already read on my phone. My wrist vibrates for the next 10 minutes.

Why would anyone want to receive old notifications? I can't understand Apple's rational here! Is this a bug?
Anyone else have this experience? Is there a way to fix??

Stop the madness!

I have a similar issue where I read my messages on my Iphone but the watch still reflects that I haven't read the messages. it has to be a bug because I never had this issue in previous Iwatch os versions

This also happens when coming out of airplane mode. I often get notifications for read messages half an hour after taking the watch out of airplane mode
