Much appreciated,If it continues, check the following locations:
Macintosh HD/Library/LaunchAgents
Macintosh HD/Library/LaunchDaemons
You should delete associated files to that specific application and reboot. It should work.
Much appreciated,
Where do I find that?
I had a look at disk utility but couldn't find it there
Sorry, I'm one of those "old technology challenged" guys, still love it but wished I had taken on computers years ago

Very easy to follow, thank you!No need to say sorry, we are here to help
Open finder and press command shift g keys at the same time, a window will pop up saying "Go to the folder". Just paste this to the box:
/Library
And hit enter. There you will see two folders named LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons.
Thank you,You can check the following locations for apps that automatically launch on startup and delete any you don't need/want:
- System Preferences > Users & Groups > yourusername > Login Items (SL and older: System Preferences > Accounts > yourusername > Login Items)
- In Finder, click Go > Go to Folder > /Library/LaunchAgents
- In Finder, click Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/LaunchAgents
- In Finder, click Go > Go to Folder > /Library/StartupItems
