Stopping auto --watchya call it-- in Safari

How do I stop the automatic change of window/tab in safari. You have more than 1 window. you are on one, when the other asserts itself (as result of finish loading a page). if i am on a another window/page, i must have a good reason, and i will choose to go back to the other page when i feel like it. (it most annoying while filling in a form...). i would like some control

Yes, this is very annoying, and I too would appreciate a clue as to how to turn this off.
