Stopping iTunes from automatically importing downloaded sound files?

I am downloading lots of Creative Commons sound effect files and every each of them are downloaded into the downloads folder they automatically get imported into iTunes. How do I stop it from doing this? I checked Preferences, though I do not see a setting.
