Stopping MBP to open previous files

Hi guys,

Since I updated to Lion from SL, one of the feature I thought it was cool was, MBP opening previous file when you open an application.

For example, when you open Preview with a picture and quit the application and then open preview again, the old picture would pop up.

After you close Word from typing a document and open a different document, the previous document would also open up.

The first 2 weeks I thought this was pretty cool.
Now its just getting annoying.
It opens the previous file on most of my applications now.
Anyone know how to stop this?

You can turn it off permanently in System Prefs => General => Uncheck "Restore windows when quitting and reopening apps". Or you can simply close all open windows before quitting the applications.

Is there a way to choose which apps?
I dont want the word, preview and others but I just want safari to still do that.

Not that I know of... there could be an app out there that can blacklist these for you, but I haven't heard of one. Perhaps a future update of Office will include an option to do so (though I slightly doubt this possibility). Otherwise, I'd say you're out of luck with selecting individual apps.
