Sometimes I go to a picture in google and click it and it downloads and auto opens in preview. This is highly annoying since I have to close it and move it to the trash, then delete it.

How do I stop this from happening without getting a nanny message for every single download?

its not about the browser, its about the server that has the picture stored in it. Being a webmaster, i know that you can actually prevent a picture on opening directly in the browser with php.

Subscribed! I HATE it when I can't open a photo in a new window, and it self-downloads. It almost scares me a little....

Try Right Click on the photo, then select what you want to do with it.

This should turn off automatic opening of files.

This happens to me in google, so I can't click the picture, that's what I am trying to do in the first place. When you go for a thumbnail, it DL's the photo. You never get to the picture.

Another point, turning on that disable auto downloads turns on the nanny and you have to accept every download. PITA moreso than what we started with.
