If I was to get a 16gb wi-fi pad, how much of the 16gb is actually available for me to use ? About half ?

Also, does it now come with more than 512mb ram ?

About 13.7GB and they didn't specify RAM on the new model, they never do, but it seems it has more.

The Apple Store states that the new iPad has 1Gb of RAM.

Correction: it does not. There is a foot note stating the "1Gb=" but it doesn't say it has 1Gb.
