I've got a 100GB pocket LaCie (FAT32 formatted), a 160GB 3.5inch desktop external (NTFS formatted) and recently a 500GB 3.5inch LaCie as yet unemployed...
Datawise, I've used 62GB of the 111.5 available on the MBPro; I've got less than 2GB left on the 100GB FAT32 LaCie, and less than 5GB left on the 160GB NTFS 3.5inch..
I'm thinking of keeping the 100GB pocket-drive as it is now; which is as the primary drive i use to move stuff around and stuff i carry with me.
I was thinking of dumping everything on the 160GB onto the 500GB, as well as backing up the 100GB onto the 500GB. I intend on using the 160Gb as a 1:1 backup drive via SuperDuper for my MBPro...
Questions.
1) Is it worth thinking about backing up the MBPro backup onto the 500GB? If yes, go to question (1a); otherwise go to question 2...
1a) How would i partition (method) the 500GB to allow for holding the backup from the MBPro and data from the FAT32 drive?
2) Is there as yet a fast and stable solution that allows OSX full (or as native as possible) read/write capability for NTFS? It would help me sleep better at night if the portable was NTFS but i'm using FAT32 to allow for the most universal access between OSes
3) Is there any other safe and OSX/XP compatible storage model someone could design from this collection of drives?
Thanks in advance for input...
