I am losing storage space each and everyday without adding music or photos to my phone. I looked into my memory usage and it is being gobbled up by apps! Can anyone help me correct this issue? For example, Facebook is a 12.4 MB app but it is taking up 264 MB due to 252 MB of documents and data. I use Facebook everyday but I am not saving anything vital there. What gives? How can I free up this space?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

Just delete the FB app and then reinstall.
I think if look many apps do this, I suspect they are gathering and storing personal data they don't need.
I don't use FB, but I've seen the same thing with google apps , usatoday, CNN and others where the app starts out at less 10mb or less and within a couple weeks is 2-3x that size and it just keeps growing.
