Store Credit???or Gift Card Option??

Hi I just got a 17inch base model MACBOOK PRO as my birthday gift.

But I really dont want it, actually want a 15.4 one with matte screen.

I've the receipt and it has been 1 week only, and still UNopened. So if I go store can get a store credit???

Because I can get ipod and 15.4 for that price. (2799+tax) ?

Thanks alot for the info. I checked the apple's webpage and could find any info about it. I'll also try to call store as well.
