Guys,
store.apple.com is currently down. New MacBook Pro coming out soon?

Besides, tomorrow is wednesday. Might be a good sign!!!:D

I hope not. Been waiting for new MacBook Pro for 2 years now:roll eyes:

They usually roll out new products on Wednesday, right?

No, Tuesday, but there have been exceptions.

And if there will be a new MBP, then it will be a slight speed bump, like 2.0 GHz to 2.1 or 2.2 GHz, thus only marginally faster when using CPU intensive applications ALL THE TIME.

Does maintenance usually take this long? It's been over 2 hours now. Keep waiting patiently!!!:D

Tuesday has been the main day in the past but there have been some wednesday releases... really with new leadership all bets are off.

For what it is worth mac mall is down as well.

......so should I just go ahead and buy a MPB 15 today? Today was gearing up to be my purchase day but then all these rumours started.

All this update, is there, isn't there is really frustrating.

I'm usually a patient person, but when it comes to buying things like this then I'm terrible!

Sorry, to be more specific, does this mean we should no assume that there is no update imminent or is it pretty certain that one will happen soon, but we're not sure precisely when?

I've said before that I'd be very happy with current spec MBP but I'd feel I'd missed a trick if I bought one and a better one came out just afterwards for the same/similar price.

Sorry if I'm posting a lot on this subject, but somehow I feel compelled to do something apple related while I wait to make my purchase - weird!

The MBP is mid-cycle, it's unlikely it will be updated until at least January or February. Given what's in it now, as well, chances are there won't be any real major update if they do update it around then. Chances are it will be after their usual timeframe because they're likely waiting for the new intel chips before upgrading. If you want it, get it, I wouldn't worry too much about an upgrade right now.

Never trust part numbers. They've been wrong before and they will be again. As I said, chances are the new MBP's will likely be released Q1 2012. If you can wait that long then by all means go ahead but don't be worried about a new one within a month or anything.

You were right, it was just a maintenance. Well, with this update just around the corner. I might as well wait. My trusty black MacBook black can wait :)
