I have been trying to put off buying a laptop, until at least the new Imac's came out, or looking at buying used for cheap.

These are the current models as they also included a pic
Should I jump on one of these?
And what would be the bet bang for my buck?

I am disabled, but looking to try to get into doing illustration again, so technically I could probably get by with the base '13, but the 15" with the ExpressCard/34 for a memory card reader would be sweet. The 17 is icing on the cake. I am currently using a compaq with a 14.1 inch screen. I also was wondering is I could(orshould )look into applecare if I can still get it as well

I am having to get a loan soon for some other issues, and thought I would get a new computer while I am at it. I basically want to get the best bang for the buck. I would be using photochop, painter, manga studio, ome illustrator, and probably adobe flash. I might try going back to school, but unless my condition improves I might as well just work at my literal snails pace and do what I can when I feel like it. (I was looking into comic book illustration as it stands I do not have the speed or stamina to hold a paying job, but my studio mate does and I would probably sub out under him when he gets paying work.

Hence my dilema at what to get or not. Since I am not working I technically would not be using this to earn a living, so I am somewhat hesitant about spending more than the base macbook, but If it is suggested that these are really that good a deal I may splurge a bit, especially the 17. My biggest hesittion on the pros, is if I go back to school, as I was thinking about just getting an imac 24' when they clearanced them out. But this sounds like it might be a better deal. I was looking at getting a used macbook in the $500 range and then upgrading later, but I am unsure about long term durability on used. But if its a better deal to go that route I might hold off and do it.
Sorry I am just not as familiar as I would like to be with mac pries and values so I thought I would ask, before getting taken.

Thanks
