Store Mail on separate hardrive

I have been storing all my mail locally all this time.

However, I have amassed over 12GB in mail, and my SSD can't hold it. Its stored in Library/Mail or whatever.

Is there anyway I can store my mail on a separate hard drive? Im thinking i need a symlink or something, but I'm not sure. Is there a way to tell mail to store my mail on this secondary HD?
