Does anyone have any suggestions for storing their external hard drives, both for when they're being used and not?

I have a macbook and have a lot of data stored on 3 external hard drives (one of which is my time machine backup).

At the moment, I have the all under my bed, but it can all get a bit cluttered because of all the cabling (they have both an external power supply and a usb cable).

I was thinking of putting a shelf up, or getting a rack, but the problem is the enclosures are different shapes and sizes, and I was also worried about cooling.

Can't seem to find any DIY guides on the internet either, and searching for 'external hard drive storage' doesn't help, as I want to store my storage

I have mine on the shelf above my desk. They were initially just stacked one above the other, but I felt the bottom drive one day and realized it was quite warm. So I found two convenient spacers (boxes of staples) and spaced them apart. Everything runs cool now.
