Hopefully someone can help.... I have a 500gb Drive attached to my Airport Extreme and my iMac and Macbook see it fine. I have used the method on the Apple website to transfer the actual music files to the drive and I have shared my library so I can play the music from both computers. If I turn off the iMac though I cannot play the music from the Macbook. I assume that this is because the iTunes library info is on the iMac.

Is there a way I can have this also on the external drive or something else I can do so that regardless of which computer is switched on, I can play my music library? I hope that makes sense!

Thanks
Dave

If you turn off the iMac and open iTunes on the MacBook whilst holding OPTION, can you then select the library on the external drive and play the tracks? :)
