I'm guessing the resale of my 3G 16GB is going to drop with the new pricing on the 3G models. So I'm thinking of just keeping it around in case I somehow lose or damage the new phone (or one of my family members does their 3G in). If the old phone is "off" and not in use would charging it one a month help the battery? Is the phone really ever "off" or is it on standby?

Keeping it around 60% is the best. I can't link you to anything, because I forget where I found it, but I'm almost sure. Keep it at 60%. Turn it off. Take two weeks off, record the percentage. Do an a proportion equation and found the % loss per period of time. Then I'd suggest keeping it between 50 and 80.

That's what I'd do anyway.

Hey thanks. I did hear that full charge is not good for long storage on laptops. I guess the same would apply here.
