If you don't want to read the following passage, please read this summary:
  • Would like a Windows partition
  • Would not like Leopard
  • Have a Leopard retail install disk
  • Really doesn't want to switch to Leopard but still would like a Windows parition

So, I have a Mac Mini Core Solo with 512MB RAM and am very happy with Tiger. It NEVER crashes. Leopard just shreds through it. Whenever I install it, the finder keeps crashing on me, and it's generally ridiculously slow. The one redeeming feature of Leopard is Boot Camp, which I would like to use.

I understand the Leopard install DVD has Windows drivers for all pieces of Apple hardware. If I have the install CD and if I can partition, do I need Leopard's boot camp? Or is there more fuddling and muddling to do with the boot-loader and such.

If I partition my drive using the GUID partition table (after having made a backup of course), one side Mac OS format, the other side FAT32 format, could I simply pop in a Windows install disc and later, once the install is finished, the Leopard install disc for drivers?

Thanks everyone.
