I'm currently with Cricket and I noticed that Straight Talk has the same 10GB for $55/month plan that I'm currently using. After doing some research I've learned that Straight Talk uses AT&T's postpaid network which gives it better coverage in some areas over the prepaid network that Cricket uses. I have two questions that I haven't found in my searches. Do you get the full AT&T speed with Straight Talk? With Cricket the download speed is capped at 8mbps. Is it easy to port my number from Cricket to Straight Talk? I've gone from postpaid to prepaid and it was easy I just wasn't sure if going from prepaid to prepaid was any different.

Google searched and found these:

I didn't read/watch them, but they look like good sources of info. Best of luck.

I saw the Tom's Guide link. I didn't notice it talking about the speed cap for Cricket or if there was one for Straight Talk.

If you can get the same amount of data for the same price, go with straight talk. They do not cap speeds like cricket does. The reason most people go cricket is b.c it is cheaper....if that is not the case make the switch :)

Ok I'll look at switching since Straight Talk doesn't cap the speed. Thanks to both of you for the replies.

I am not sure about taxes though. Cricket prices are exactly as stated...$35, $45, $55. Straight talk may have taxes if that matters.
