Strange 15" Retina MBP Typing Glitch

I've had a recurring issue (that I can't reproduce purposely) where on many occasions the typing will "freeze" in almost any application.

For up to a minute, any key will not work on command, and some of the time one of the pressed keys will appear after ~10 seconds. It can get really frustrating when I'm writing something, and I'm hesitant to bring it to the Apple Store precisely because I can't reproduce it.

Has anyone else experienced something similar or found the cause?
 
Look at the output of 'Console' right after it happens. It should give you a clue on where to look next.

Does it always happen in the same app?
 
I have the same problem.

It only happens on rMBP so far from what I am testing.

I also have the same problem on my rmbp, I'll be typing away and it'll freeze, usually it's instantly produce the last few letters I've typed. Like it's hung up and it's trying to catch up with what you're typing.

I will have to give this a try... never used the console before, but at this point I don't know what else to do.

That's because it probably is? What else are you doing when this happens?

I'm not doing anything cpu intesive at all, it's usually when I'm typing in Chrome and all I have running is that & spotify. It's definitely not right as my 5 year old laptop never hung up whilst typing.
 
Same here. Almost positive it's related to GPU usage and/or switching.
