so yesterday through an apple support call apple determined that I had a defective battery... they sent out a new one...a package arrives today (scary fast shipping)... i open to package to find... an unknown logic board...
being an honest customer I call apple to inform them of the mistake...tech's reply...."hmm thats not good" ... i would think send a very expensive logic board instead of a battery... would fall into the not good category.:D

should be interesting to see how this turns out..some how i bet i get charged for two batteries or something dumb since I now have a complete new case # to get a battery.

pictures to show definitely not a battery:

You shoulda told them the box was empty! Nothing at all, just a box and some popcorn!

i will be holding onto the board until I have a new battery that is for sure...

i was just thinking it would be funny if someone on here ended up with my battery and I had their logic board....

anyone missing a logic board?

And it his sig it says that his MBP is perfect as well :p

its NOT a MBP board.. i have tried searching the model number but cant figure it out....

it has a modem port, ethernet 2 usb, 1 firewire and a radeon mobility 9200 intergated graphics

anyone with ideas?

Apple sent me an optical drive instead of a replacement battery. I called then and it took 10 mins because she had to make sure that I was not billed when I returned the optical drive.
The paper work was correct but it just seemed the warehouse put the label on the wrong box (they are already sealed and sorted by part number on the box). I just received the replacement battery and everything looks good.

apple has sent me some wrong parts as well... needed a new aluminum bluetooth keyboard and they sent me an old plastic keyboard the first time, a mighty mouse the second time, and charged me for the right part the third time.

MYSTERY SOLVED!

14' IBOOK G4 LOGIC BOARD! unknown processor speed

WTF how in the world does that happen apple!!

I would imagine they would be looking for it though?

I wouldn't worry about it. It was Apple's mistake -- happens more often that people think. Just do a search and you will find that Amazon is notorious for this activity.
