Hi, my macbook is just about 2 years old now and i've had no problems up until now. Whenever i try to type using my mac, it randomly inserts strings of appostrphes without me pressing the appostrophe button and will not stop. Also, when i close the screen it starts making a rebooting groan at regular intervals. Has anyone else encountered this kind of problem? It has become so bad i have had to stop using my notebook. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm thinking that it could be some sort of software problem. Do you have any menubar applications installed like Typinator? Try closing or disabling those to see if the problem is no longer existent.

I have nothing like that downloaded or enabled. Its a really strange that its only on the appostrophe key.

My first guess would be something under the key closing the circuit on occasion, making it seem the key is pressed.
