Strange Audio Problem: Garage Band

For some reason I cannot get any audio to come out of my primary speakers in Garage Band. In System Preferences I choose the line out as well as in Garage Band. When playing back loops, keyboards, etc I hear nothing. If I go to the media browser and choose a itunes track, it works fine. If I plug headphones into the front port and go into sys prefs and change it to headphone output everything works fine and dandy. But it is a tad annoying to have to use headphones all the time.

Any ideas?
